Sometimes people will install the large versions on old fireplaces for that antique look... anyone ever used one?

What got me thinking of these was seeing an old catalog offering tabletop cranes -- they looked like cast-iron banana holders, the idea being to slip a heat source underneath and then unhook the kettle from the top when the water was ready. I've seen decorative teapot holders made of wood in the same design, but I'm not sure that they are meant for kettle use.

Does anyone still make them?
