Just wondering if anyone here had experience with Toju's dark brown clay and can attest how it performs with Japanese greens?
I'm looking at his stuff for a while now but yet heard any feedback...

Kidding, I do not need another amazing Japanese clay discovery in my life obligating me to purchase more things... cursed be Hokujo and Kobiwako clays!

From a visual point of view the tone of Tojus clay looks not dissimilar to the darker part of Hokujos blend, maybe from a similar source?

I received a Toju pot from Asako as a gift with a note that Toju is her Sencha teacher’s favorite potter. I was interested in the clay as I haven’t heard about Toju before so she told me he uses the clay collected from a rice field. He than makes the clay by himself in a primitivne way. She encourages me to try it with oolongs too. I didn’t try it out just yet but I am planning to. Some photos. I really like the texture of the pot, clay acts like it is a tree branch.

I have a small collection of Toju wares, but I am sure some others on the forum are more experienced with his clay.
I find the clay to be high fired and of little affect to Japanese greens and some lighter oolongs that I have tried.
I feel like his kyusus are very thin and light compared to the few other Japanese pots I have. The main reason I like his stuff is because I really enjoy the physical appearance and details.
I would definitely seek opinions from others as I have little actual experience.

Thank you. I had to find out what all the hype was about. I've used it a few times already. I'm loving it so far. It's very well made.
