Hi! Just discovered this forum. I’m a life-long friend of Japan and I have visited this amazing country many times, always managing to discover new treasures.
Japanese green tea has been a constant companion for years and I enjoy it almost daily at home.
During my most recent trip in November this year, I found this little beauty in an antique shop. I called it a tetsubin but the owner corrected me and labeled it a tetsu kyusu due to its small size (12cm high incl the handle.

It comes with a makers mark. I believe the right parts reads ”nambu”. But I struggle a bit with the left part.

The first kanji in ”mori” so I’m guessing it might have to do with Morioka.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I think the left is "盛開堂". Take a look at this auction here: https://history.aucfan.com/yahoo/r333706312/bidrank/. The squares on top look similar.

Thanks Bourder 👍🙂 Yes, it def is from the same workshop.
I wonder if the Mori Kai-do mentioned in the text is the actual workshop?
