It's apparently made of 99% tin and 1% silver. It's called (I take it) a "Seishi Teapot," and it's insanely pricey at $1,145. It's also one of the more intriguing non-clay teawares I've come across. It appears to be made by a studio called Seikado, based in Kyoto. Is this "Seishi" style of teaware prevalent in Japan at all? Google doesn't seem to yield anything, other than links to Seikado studio or the seller, and I've never seen something similar. I'd be interested if these came in gong fu sizes from other makers, and didn't feature what I assume is an insane New York City markup (though the wares on Seikado's online store aren't cheap either).
