Unique cup - trouble with mark!

I purchased this gorgeous cup from a japanese thrift shop. The potters mark should be japanese but by the look of it, could be chinese as well.
I was stunned when I saw it. It contains a glorious juxtaposition of an english form, a thin wash of purple glaze, and textures that mimic conventional decorations showing the artist's hand.
Looks almost like it belongs in a gallery.
I'm finding it difficult to make out the lines of the potters mark, perhaps someone else will recognize it here ...
