The seal says Toshimine [俊峯] (Toshimine Hiramaru). It is more likely a Banko than a Tokoname but sometimes it’s very close and difficult to say.

Those are a pair of lovely banko pots. I like the combination of swirling knob, stepped rings on lid, and the little carved pattern of holes in the handle: those are pots with personality, whoever made them.

Time to check out the inside of your new and old kyusu handles. A lot of dust inside two of mine that I didn’t give a Birthday bath to when I first got them. Surprising what is found with a magnifier, even after washing them several times. A vacuum must form inside the handle. Check it out. Curious finds.

Q-tips are useful for cleaning spouts, under rims, etc. Victoria, is good to remind us about cleaning and "baths". Rinsing with a faucet is not the same as submerging dishes in water.

New brother to my swirling knob crew. This time strangely fired, decorated with painting. Not sure what clay or kiln is that. Happy for any guidance. Also it came with set of cups. I have similar ones with similar low quality/ crackled, holed glaze and i am bit afraid to use them for lead concern. Any option on this. They soak (very) hot water under the glaze. Thanksfor viewing and weighting in.

The new kyusu looks like stoneware, the other two darker brown ones look like Banko. Interesting collection.

Yes other two are bankos, i just recognised that bigger one received chip on the spout since i post it last time. They are all same style with smalest one and middle one having knobs rotating on the lid. I somehow like their rustic style. Planning to try the new one with sheng for a change. Other two brew sencha very nicely.
Would be courious to hear opinion on glaze on cups. Thx
