I like crackle patterns but not tea stains.....
The lines are cool (red arrows).
The stain around the bit of exposed clay (circled) is annoying. That's the part that takes baking soda and a soft brush to neaten up from time to time.

Wow, only time I’ve seen an Edo period kyusu was maybe at the MET or Frick. Can you share more images? Full view and inside. Do you know anything more about this special kyusu? Thanks.

Oh! Yeah, I have one or two of those developing on mine. I'll have to try your method.
Oh it's not that level of fancy I posted it a few years ago on teachat and someone mentioned that Edo kyusus are not so rare, and this one is not the work of a famous master. It has a quite nice glaze so I enjoy it.

Yamada Sou shudei 120ml - snagged this one the day toru put it up on artisticnippon. My first teapot from the jozan family. The no drip spout is truly something you have to experience first hand. It's quite impressive and entertaining playing with it trying to get it to dribble, and failing.

Yes, the texture and feel of the clay is great. I also love the little details, the lid design and crimping around the spout and handle, a beautiful pot to behold. Teachronicles, very nice Sou kyusu, proportions and clay are super. I would recommend to pair with sencha and high mountain oolong. Not roasted DongDing. The sweet high mountain oils don’t detract from sencha. I do use almost boiling water to clean pot before air drying though.. High mountain and sencha pair well in a shared pot

No worries Victoria, just a test. I'll be trying high mountain next. Though, I don't drink high mountain a lot and sencha nearly never and would hate to see the pot seldom used. I'll be trying all sorts of teas and want to see if it benefits any of my more frequently drunk teas positively.
