TAD activated, of course I had to take a look at every kyusu on those sites! Added sites to OP. Thanks for sharing.

Loooove Tachi Masaki's pots. Just grabbed one from Sazen last week.

Is anyone familiar with Hareitiba Japanese Antique? There's a bunch of beautiful stuff on there including vintage tetsubin and pre-WW2 Banko-yaki pots.

The order from Sazen arrived today. They're my second big purchase from Japan, with the previous order from Hibiki-An being the only one prior. Both companies shipped tremendously fast and both impressed me with their packing. Sazen even used some special kind of tape on the outside of the box. Both sent samples, too. :D

This is the kyusu that I grabbed from them. I used it tonight to brew their Genmaicha Hanayanagi topped with a pinch of Kyobancha. 10/10 would recommend. It's a very different character than the other smoked teas that I've tried like Mark T Wendell's Hu-Kwa, much more gentle and less resinous. The texture on the pot is so intricate that it's hard to see all of the details with the naked eye and the pour is wonderful. It's a very satisfying pot to use.

I highly recommend https://pakupakuan.shop

Many amazing artists to browse through, and orders are accepted outside of Japan (I know there is shipping to the US, anyway) using Apple Pay or PayPal.

Several beautiful woodfired teapots from Taisuke Shiraiwa are currently available at really fair prices.

The order I received was shipped quickly via EMS, also at a very fair price… might be the best/most robust shipping packaging I’ve ever received.

Nice find. Offers shipping to EU as well. Prices seem on par or maybe better than the Shiraiwa Taisuke section on (usually reasonably priced) TdJ (but make sure to switch to Japanese to see JPY prices, not USD, which are bonkers). Even better, if they subtract Japanese sales tax before shipping, like most non-"Western-facing" shops do. Noticed these pots when they first appeared on TdJ and my first thought was "oh, what a bargain for a Konishi Yohei."

Like a couple other potters Shiraiwa Taisuke recently increased the prices on his wares, while pakupakuan still has some older stock around. I'm a big fan of Matsumoto Haruyuki's work on pakupakuan as well, but it seems only one woodfired porcelain cup is available now.

Yeah, some great stuff in there. Also, this glass chawan is such a perfect combination of kitsch and tentacles, I'd certainly buy it if they dropped a zero from the price: https://pakupakuan.shop/products/%E6%9C ... -ismstb012.

I forgot to mention, pakupakuan has a newsletter (subscription via email) that sometimes offers coupon codes.

With the free shipping TDJ offers at a certain threshold, and occasional coupons, the prices in JPY are also quite fair.

In addition to the price increase, I wasn’t really impressed with the newer pots on TDJ, of which some seem to be those that weren’t sold at a recent exhibition (that did have some very impressive work, justifiably no longer available). I follow https://instagram.com/taisukeshiraiwa_ ... BiNWFlZA== and I think a couple of the pots on Pakupakuan are from more recent firings, or at least aren’t from the batch still listed on his website.
