Brand new kyusu came in yesterday, my first Hojo teapot, a 150ml Iga Red. Drinking Maiko Tea's Kamo out of it for a first try, after it took a hot water bath of course. Not sure what I will end up dedicating this pot to, but I thought a decent asamushi would be a good inauguration.
Wow! It really does increase the body and the aftertaste. I put in 5g of leaves for 150ml of water, and it had such a nice and powerful flavor. I'm looking forward to trying some Chinese black teas in this as well, I've heard they work well.
Anyone else who has any Iga Red clay, what are your favorite teas to brew in it? What have you like least? What's your favorite clay for Sencha?
