Hello. I've been drinking a handful of years. I'm from the southern united states and I dislike sweet tea,so before I moved, it was tisane only for me.

I gravitate towards sencha, high mountain oolongs, pretty tippy whites, and matcha. Lots of matcha. Also, yancha and young sheng, on occasion.

I take my tea in a bowl or gaiwan. Or teapot or mug. Depends.

I like the idea of wabi-cha and of being a tea hermit as these fit my temperament quite well. I'm sick often and tea helps me find a bit of daily joy and comfort without having to be too social or put on pants.

I reside in the US.

@Dresden Yes, they are, without a doubt, my least favorite article of clothing. And thank you for the welcome.

Hey

I've been drinking tea for a little over a year now. It was getting a little lonely to be lurker and a lone drinker so here we are.

I started off with a focus on sheng pu-erh but I've gravitated towards other genres, primarily oolong (mostly yancha), as those are much nicer to drink daily.
While I am trying to stick to a few trusty pots, I am a huge believer in clay making better tea.

I don't really remember why I originally got interested in tea, but one day I found a ripe pu-erh tuocha hanging around at a market and I thought why not try it.
I don't know if I got lucky, but it was actually decent, and when I ran out, I bought more ripe from yunnan sourcing . One day I decided for nostalgic reasons to try it again, but it was horrible. I guess I developed some sort of palette.

In general I feel that I am fairly invested into drinking tea now. I've been drinking primarily in a more budget orientated fashion with the occasional treat, but I now have an itch to try out more of the higher end offerings.

I live in finland.
