Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone,
How long have you been drinking tea?- Since I was perhaps 8 or 9, but that wasn't true tea, more like a splash of tea with loads of milk and honey or sugar. It wasn't until I was a young adult did I come to truly appreciate tea.
What kind of tea do you drink? Mainly black, specifically English Breakfast or Earl Grey.
How do you prepare your tea? As a mom of a toddler it is unfortunately store bought tea bags, but when I do get a good relaxing morning to myself it is proper tea leaves in a strainer.
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now? Japanese tetsubin and brewing techniques.
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there? Strongly dislike the taste of coffee and loved the different varieties of tea and how subtle or powerful it can be depending on the leaves.
What is your location? Canada

Hi so glad to meet you all here. Just found this wonderful forum on google.
I'm June from China, and I'm a tealover and running my own tea brand.
How long have you been drinking tea?
Being a Chinese, I'v been drinking tea ever since I could walk, home, restaurant, school, just everywhere, it's a culture in my hometown. But only after I began to practise Taoism meditation did I really got into the real world of tea. I quit my job in tech firm and went back to hometown then started to sell local teas.
What kind of tea do you drink?
Any kind! They are all whispers from the nature, I'd like to feel and hear each of them!
How do you prepare your tea?
Depending on moods. Gaiwan, Gongfu teas are great, I also got a whole buch of teawares for it. Sometimes I just felt the right mood, milk and tea in mug also works for me. Oh! for some black tea, I found it tasting gorgeous if I fry it little bit before pouring any milk in there!
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now?
I wrote a booklet covering 150 types of Chinese green teas last month as my own note also my gift to customers of my tea brand. Now I'm on the way to black tea.
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there?
Tea leaves are grown from tree, cultivated by farms, then we wait, wait for the specific seasom to have a taste of the time and nature. I'v decided to devote my time and life to the tea industry, to help farms, to let more people taste nature, to set myself as an testimonial how we could better live with nature.
What is your location?
I'm living in China, sometimes in Enshi where our tea farms locate, or other places for business.

Hi, I’m Katie. I’ve been drinking tea for about 10 years, but probably not as seriously as most here.
I pretty exclusively drink Yunnan black teas and I brew them casually in a mug with an infuser. I’m really just here to learn more and find a better source for my daily “golden” Yunnan.
I’m in eastern Washington state, US.

How long have you been drinking tea?
I have been helping my grandfather grow tea, roast tea and identify tea since I was a child. Drinking tea is my life.
What kind of tea do you drink?
I drink all the six major types of tea in China: black tea, green tea, oolong tea, white tea, yellow tea, and black tea, but the most important one is Dancong tea.
How do you prepare your tea?
I usually use our Chaozhou Kung Fu tea brewing technique
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now?
I want to know what kind of tea people in different regions like to drink and how they like to brew it?
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there?
My job is to grow tea, fry tea, make tea and identify the quality of various teas. At the same time, I am the inheritor of Chaozhou Gongfu tea culture. I hope to spread the joy and happiness of tea culture to everyone in the world.
What is your location?
I am at Fenghuang Mountain in Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, China. Chaozhou City is a small city in China, but it has accumulated China's ancient traditional tea culture.

I am very happy to meet you all here. This is my self-introduction. Thank you.
Who am I?
I am David, the Operations Director of specialtyshoponline.com, an online specialty store that sells Chinese specialty products, including tea.
How long have you been drinking tea?
I have been drinking tea for over 20 years.
What kind of tea do you drink?
I am currently drinking a type of green tea called “眉茶” (Mei Cha) from Zhangjiajie, which has a sweet aftertaste(Huigan).
How do you prepare your tea?
While the specific preparation method wasn’t detailed, generally, green tea like Mei Cha is prepared by steeping the leaves in hot water (around 80-85°C) for a few minutes to bring out its best flavor.
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now?
I am interested in learning the basics of tea, such as how to select teas that people are interested in, how to distinguish between genuine and fake tea, and how to brew tea to achieve the best taste.
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there?
I believe that tea, especially green tea, has many health benefits, such as clearing blood vessels of impurities and providing various nutrients. Additionally, tea represents over 5000 years of Chinese culture and history. Its lightweight nature and ease of storage and transportation make it an ideal product to sell. These factors led me to the world of tea and continue to keep me engaged.
What is your location?
I am originally from Xiantao, Hubei, China, known as the “land of fish and rice.”

Welcome to TeaForum!
How long have you been drinking tea?
Probably like 25 years, but only branched out from black teas in the last 5 or 6.
What kind of tea do you drink?
Most all kinds, but most consistently a strong black breakfast tea in the morning. I mix it up between various green/oolong/puerh/dark teas in the afternoons.
How do you prepare your tea?
All loose leaf using Finum basket filters into either a mug or an insulated thermos.
Assam / English Breakfast: very strong, with half and half.
All others, generally just following the instructions included with the tea, steeping for however long I feel like. I am extremely unmethodical about it all.
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now?
Other steeping methods. Does it make a difference? Trying more kinds of tea, particularly oolong and puerh.
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there?
I think I got a random oolong that the local co-op had on sale in the bulk section and was surprised how much I liked it even though I was used to only English-breakfast-with-milk-and-sugar type stuff. That entailed me actually learning that you don't actually steep other kinds of tea in boiling water, and then it was off to the proverbial races.

Hello everyone,
How long have you been drinking tea?
Since I was a kid (but that was mostly from tea bags at the time). I really liked the vibe when I was going to my grandparents in the afternoon and my grandfather made this big teapot for us.
What kind of tea do you drink? Sencha mostly and matcha, black tea from time to time.
How do you prepare your tea? For sencha, usually 4g in my kyusu with 100ml of water and 3 infusions.
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now? Teapots and brewing methods
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there? I enjoy the process and I like to experiment and test different brewing parameters (temperature, water, teapots,…) to taste the differences.
What is your location? Belgium
