Introduce Yourself
How long have you been drinking tea?
A very long time. Hey, I'm an old lady. To give you a number would be pretentious and rather meaningless. My knowledge about tea exists on the head of a pin. I love learning.
Mostly green and white teas. On and off between loose leaf and tea bag. The last few years only loose leaf. It's taken a long time to become more thoughtful about my tea drinking.
What kind of tea do you drink?
Currently obsessed with semi-aged puerh. I also enjoy oolong on occasion.
Because I'm old, am drinking for the now, not saving for an uncertain future.
How do you prepare your tea?
Gong fu or Western style.
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now?
How to make wise and not FOMO purchases.
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there?
It's a fascinating area to explore. So much history, variation, and complications. And... I love tea.
Came to puerh (over 18 months ago) via a long-term qigong practice. My teacher was always talking about puerh and decided to finally try it. Love at 2nd sip as a sense of deep calm overcame me.
I'm a solo tea drinker; my spouse is quite kind about my tea.
What is your location?
Santa Fe, New Mexico (USA)

Welcome to TeaForum new members. Looking forward to your many contributions to our community
Good morning.
I used to be an avid drinker of coffee, but it was elevating my heart rate, and seemed to have a violent effect on the body. So I stopped and went caffeine free for a couple months.
And now I've been dipping my toes into the world of tea, mostly greens. I used to live near a teahouse in Tucson AZ that also sells through a website ( www.sevencups.com) so I've bought some from them and have been enjoying that quite a bit.
I'm not into teaware (yet) but am researching the body of knowledge around that, and this forum has so much lived experience that I had to join. I hope to invest in a clay pot eventually.
Thanks for having me.

welcome!
My friend introduced me to the wonderful world of loose leaf tea about 15 years ago. He taught me how to properly brew tea, he taught me about the philosophy of tea, there is much more to tea then just flavor and aroma. The way of Tea is an adventurous one. Ever since I've been drinking tea almost every day. My favorites are Pu Erh, Da Hong Pao, Tie Guan Yin, Longjing, Golden Yunan and I'm still discovering this magical world.
In 2022 I launched my own online shop selling the finest quality loose leaf tea Source Official, feel free to check it out, the selection isn't big but it's the best tea there is out there.
Currently I live in the states, Rhode Island, and I'm loving it so far.

Hi there, my name is Matei P. !
How long have you been drinking tea?
I've begun drinking tea in my childhood (in the 80ies), drinking Earl Grey and scented black teas. In the 90ies I discovered the oolongs. Two years ago I've luckily stumbled upon the sheng puerh teas.
What kind of tea do you drink?
High-mountain Oolongs (Taiwan), Tie Guan Yin, Dan Cong, Sheng Puerh, Heizuhan (Dark brick), Fu brick, sometimes, Gyokuro.
I never managed to fall in love with Shou/ripe Puerh, Liu Bao aso.
How do you prepare your tea?
Mainly Gong Fu; at times, I boil Hei Cha in a clay kettle.
What tea knowledge are you interested in exploring right now?
Hei cha is my newest revelation, so I am eager to explore/learn more about it.
Looking for the perfect, even though inexistent, Sheng Puerh brewing technique/skill.
What factors lead you to delve into the world of tea, and what is keeping you there?
The pure pleasure of drinking&preparing tea, and some degree of a tea-tools&accessories fetish.
What is your location?
Bucharest, Romania
