Is it my limited perception or do people only mention Yixing factories 1, 2 and 5? What about 3 and 4? Can not find any mention of it when doing a basic google search.

That's my understanding, too.

slightly off topic but here is a link to an F2 catalog for anyone interested. I'm guessing there is also one floating around for f3-5.

I just got a vintage shui ping today with same bottom stamp. I suspected mine was f2. Though I've seen this mark attributed to f1 and f2.

Stamp just says Zhongguo Yixing, China Yixing. Apart from that as far as I understood, the F2 stamps are often more crude and/or sloppily applied.

Yes, but this version as far as I can tell isn't commonly found on f1. Only f1 ive seen it on was a single fb post. All others were on F2 pots and even those were limited.

Do you mean because it is square? There are many F1 pots with square zhongguo yixing seals.

I second what Steanze said. There are many examples in Dr. Liu’s book on Factory 1 teapots with square zhongguo yixing seals. Some applied sloppily.

No, it is the way the characters are done. Rectangular connecting lines on bottom of character.

That's right, that's not usually found in F1. Just wanted to make sure what you were pointing out.
