I'm desperately trying to find this kind of tray (note that its diameter is wider than what is common to see in travel sets). I know that this is *very* common in Chaozhou but I just can't find anyway to purchase it online or something...
Would be glad for any hints
Where can I find such tray/boat

Taobao, though I would be worried about it arriving in one piece. I'm sure there are better words, but you can search "圆形茶台" to find some good variety.
The good stuff on TaoBao is quite expensive while the rest seems kinda kitsch. Though, as OldWaysTea said, I prefer to order from a vendor that has safer shipping options and experience... After all, this is quite a large piece of porcelain to send overseas...

Have you been to Fang Gourmet Tea in Queens?

This term (圆形茶台) actually yields some pretty cool stuff. Thanks!OldWaysTea wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 12:01 pmTaobao, though I would be worried about it arriving in one piece. I'm sure there are better words, but you can search "圆形茶台" to find some good variety.
My impression is that these are such ordinary items that they're not as likely to be featured online as more specialized items. In NYC, I'd find out what your local chinatown shops are that carry a fair amount of teas & teawares, not the fanciest shop but the grocery or herbalist with a more tea than average, and look there. No worries about shipping rates or breakage for a fairly heavy and delicate item.
