Just saw a pot similar to yours posted in the early yixing pot group on facebook, doubts were raised there as well in regards to the filter, which seems not typical for F1.

Whether F1 or not, the clay looks fine (judging only from the picture of the lid, it's almost impossible to see anything on the photos of wet pot). I'd just try to use it without overthinking it.

F1 did make shuipings with multi-hole filters, but 4-hole I am not so sure...

Do 4 hole filters even exist? I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one.

I thought I remembered seeing a four, but looking back it was a five, maybe the five is the lowest number apart from one

Yea I saw that 5 you posted on FB awhile back. 4 holes sounds like it would be a very slow pour.

It's a seven-hole filter on this pot. Sorry, I can't count apparently! ;) Never seen one on a F1 shuiping.

I'm apparently terrible at counting too. I posted a 5 hole lidless pot the other day and somehow convinced myself it was 4.

Did F1 ever use four-hole filters on shuipings? All of my F1 shuipings are single hole.
it seems that F1 did use a variety of filter types. Dr. Lu told me that for example green label pots have a range of filter types and are less unified in this sense than earlier pots.

an example of a filter on what is (probably) F1 green label shuiping, qsn clay:

i didn't know this kind of filter existed on F1 pots either until i asked...

Another issue is if the holes actually line up with the spout hole... I have one with only half the holes actually opening up to the spout....

Not aligning holes is very sloppy craftsmanship!

Just curious how it turned out. Did you file down the spout?
