What cups do you use for your gongfu tea?

A surprise find at the thrift store today...$0.45 each!

Trying out a new tea cup/bowl. Larger than normal for me, but feels good in the hand.

I love vintage cups but I find I prefer using these 2 instead. These are somehow better than any other plain simple cup I've used. Perfect size for solo drinking with 40-60ml yixing. Both from Red Blossom in SF.

Does anyone know where I can buy high quality porcelain cups (plain white) for gongfu?

I’m assuming high quality porcelain would make tea taste different from $5 porcelain cups?

I've heard good things about Jingdezhen porcelain. But I wonder, can a $6 Jingdezhen porcelain cup be made of high material porcelain? I know some pieces from that region can be $100 for a cup.
I am not exactly sure what makes porcelain be high quality or what to look for.

I regularly use those cups, and they are my favorite so far for many teas. My understanding is that what makes high quality material is a combination of purity (which can be seen in terms of color), and an ability to be made eggshell thin. These cups meet both of those criteria despite the pretty reasonable pricetag. My guess is that they are fairly simple and easy to make, despite being handmade, which keeps the price down.

But if you want to spend a ton on porcelain cups, Mud and Leaves has some really nice painted ones:

Just an idea, it'd be interesting to get the 6 dollar one and a more expensive one to compare. I regular compare my cups side by side when drinking tea and have found some cheap ones perform just as good as pricier ones, although its not even across the board, there are some cheap ones that don't. That being said my favorite cup so far is 40ml cup I got for 40$ from global tea hut. Is it better cause it was more expensive? Better materials? Maybe. I think it has to do with the shape of the cup, as well as the material, so it's worth do some testing with different shapes, materials, prices.
