apparently it's fully hand made
I think the Ben San lu ni one is half hand made. Many of the zhuni are full hand.

These featured on ig are also full hand -

Your new Ben Shan Luni pairs really nicely with your antique plater. What size is it? Sweet.

130 ml. It's working really well with aged tea. I don't use a lot - like 3g, and rinse and then go about half a minute. I feel with gaiwan, would need 60s for similar potency. Pot seems to hold heat really well and draws out the substance nicely

Almost seems there are shrinkage lines like in zhuni

Interesting; if it's the same clay and maker as the pot that I got from TWL, then it's a good illustration of how there's no 'perfect' match between tea and clay. I tried mine with old puer, but I much preferred using it for unroasted high mountain tea (which it's drinking right now).

I'd rephrase it: a perfect personal match between tea and clay. My preference is the same as yours, high mountain and other greens for (most)Duanni/Lüni clays.

Thanks for posting, very interesting! Got my eye on a zhuni that seems to be the same type as yours and sent you a PM (just as Ethan said... :-).

Hahaha different folks, different strokes. Honestly, I feel this pot should work with lots of teas. Enjoying it now with some 70s dong ding

The pot seems quite well fired, with a crystalline quality and high pitched ring. It does stain very easily- even after only 2 sessions with aged tea (not fermented stuff like pu, but green and oolong) - though readily removed with some walnut powder.

Because I'm not a great consumer of aged tea (25+ year oolong and green) once I deplete my limited stash, i intend to reset and use for whites

The craftsmanship is a lot better than I’d have imagined at that price point. The seams from the press mold seem well hidden and the edges have been cleaned.

It goes without saying that the level of customer service you received surpasses what you would receive from the domestic reseller.

Looks like those for 3500-5000NTD, up to some more expensive, complex shapes (hexagon for 7000) are half handmade. The model I asked about (Leo's lǜní -- I really like it) was confirmed half handmade by the seller.

The 9,999 NTD one I inquired about is fully handmade acc/to seller. The handmade ones seem to include 全手工 ("fully handmade" per Google translate) in the product name (except for the really expensive ones in unique shapes, where I guess it's understood).

BTW, they said they're still setting up their payment method for foreign orders, but should be able to accept them within a month.

Here are some pics of the lǜní from the inside and a closeup of the coarse zhuni used in some of their pots.

That seam is well done. I have to say the luni looks beautiful.

@teatray, thanks for the additional information!

Nice! How do you order from them? I'm such a chicken with yixing teapots, still don't feel quite ready to use one unless I know they're clean.

Message them on FB or Instagram. I got an auto-reply in Chinese but they got in touch in English soon after. They do not have int'l payment & shipping figured out yet, but are working on it.
