Its not a style of pot I'd personally go for but if it's authentic than it probably has decent clay. Price is reason so go for it if you like that shape and firing level.

I need something for Shu. I think this would work well.

Steanz, you want to chime in here?

I think for 1 person is a bit on the large side, but shu is relatively forgiving so you could fill the pot part of the way if you want less tea. The clay looks ok. In my view it is a bit pricey for what it is though, I would look around a bit more. :)

That seems really overpriced to me.
I know it's not easy to get good pots cheaply. But just for the sake of comparison, this one
https://www.essenceoftea.com/teaware/cl ... -ping.html
seems to me quite a bit nicer and a bit cheaper too (and comes from a trustworthy vendor, which sort of justifies their prices).

EDIT: Oh wait, forget what i said. They sell the same pot for even more...

Generally, hongni is better before 1977. Zini after 1977 and into the 90s is still pretty good. That's why you might see zini pots from the 80s and 90s priced similarly to or higher than hongni pots of the same period

Thanks, for clarifying this. Do you know if this dark zini/heini is a "normal" zini clay with added manganese oxide, or is it some kind of darker ore?

Any decent sources for pots? I know of EoT... I've searched online and I'm not finding a lot.

I think those prices are in TWD. Compare them with EUR or GBP prices ;)

Ah! That's weird, I thought there was a U.S. Flag in the top left corner, and I assumed that indicated the currency.

EDIT. I see now that the U.S. flag indicates the language.

It seems the site is still being set up, so I would not go by any prices currently posted.

I’m not seeing any pots for sale :/
Am I on the wrong site?
