My Yixing collection grew two sizes today!



Two 85mL late 90's shuipings made for export to Taiwan. Hongni and zini, purchased from Chawangshop. I plan to use the hongni for young sheng and the zini for yancha.

I just got this pot, it is a 1987-1992 F1 Heini. I’ve only used modern pots before so this is new for me. I was wondering if the scratches at the bottom are normal/nothing to be concerned about? They are not deep scratches. The pot smelled a bit when it first came to me but after a few rinses with hot water it is mostly gone.

Breaking in a new 80ml 70's shui ping along with a loofa mat. Nice clay and firing on this one. Good results with semi-aged sheng. I prob don't need anymore yixing after this one but I have the feeling I'll find another one I can't live with out. Also my girlfriend complains that my pots are way too small for 2ppl so I prob need to get a couple larger 150-180ml ones soon.

I know f2 probably does not have the best reputation(maybe it it deserves it) but they did I think definitely produce some nice stuff earlier on and in fact early on they used the same clay that f1 was using at the time...
Here's my 80's zini xian piao.
Clay is really smooth and glossy+no drip fast pour makes this my favorite yixing I currently own
Craftsmenship I think is quite good for the period too
Be interesting to know if anyone has a zini f1 pot from sometime in the 80's to compare?

Where did you get it? any other pics?
It is common to have tooling marks on the bottom of a pot

New pot, just arrived today. 60s hongni shuiping 85ml. The seller actually told me it's from 58, the start of factory 1 but idk how you'd verify that. Haven't tested firing yet, soaking in water now. Will probably use for aged sheng.

OMG, it is beautiful. The puffy body, the balanced proportions which are more horizontal than vertical, the textured hongni clay just perfect. Looks clean as well, so you don’t need to do a full reset; just soak a few days, use as a pitcher for a few more days, and it’s ready to go. Looks very early to me too, but I’m not an expert like Dr Lu

Would you say the rich deep color of the clay is pretty accurate on screen? Looks very similar in tonal depth (different clays) to my Jozan III.

Looks like an EoT pot. Am I right? (tool marks are perfectly normal with these pots)

IMO he is a very reliable seller.

I think so too, but I also double checked with steanze and dr lu. It wasn't cheap so I wanted to be sure.

Victoria, the pictures pretty close. I'd say it's a tad more orange in real life.
