What's the reason for this change in color on this pot? Is it a flaw from firing? (The pot is wet because I cleaned it today.)

Looks like a firing flaw yes.

@steanze @Bok

Thanks, I had not seen this before.

Good chance that this will be my new favorite pot. Shape, clay, workmanship... everything's nice on it, and it even got a ball filter. 8-) The teapot is pretty heavy for the rather small size.

This is one of my favorite bamboo shapes. I have a smaller 130ml version w/ heixingtu. Mine is a bit of a dripper though.

@Chadrinkincat

The Square Bamboo is a celebrity dripper!... hahahaha..... use it at half capacity, it will drip a lot lesser.

Cheers!

Cool!!.... Aside from being a famed dripper, the Square Bamboo is also known for it's beauty in it's definitive lines. Made even more desirable in Hei Xin Tu. Awesome find!

Cheers!

Even if the pot is from a later period? I know that these pots were also made during the laser sticker era. There are also pretty decent copies of this pot on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/303568873678 , for example), but I am sure that my pot is from F1. However, I am not sure how old it is.

I have seen your pot on Instagram. It's a beauty. :) My pot is also made of Heixingtu and a bit of a dripper too (but it's manageable).

That eBay pot looks low quality to me.

Heixingtu is from green label period only. If your if F1 than it’s early-mid 80’s

Oh, that's nice. I did not know that. :) So I don't have to worry about the clay.

It would have been easier if you posted them one pot at time to make it clear what bottom belongs to what pot. ;)
The 3rd picture looks like might be a chaozhou (a.k.a. shantou ot chaoshan) pot, possibly vintage.
The two red ones on the 2nd and 6th photo with the similar bottoms look like they might also be some non-yixing clay (chaozhou, taiwanese, ???).

Thanks :) Zisha Art Gallery is normally too expensive for me, but maybe, I will buy a specific pot there some time. Most likely, I won't buy another pot this year. I still got three more in the mail, and I won't have that much time to spend when the corona crisis is over. I am also running out of space, so I have to sell some pots first. :roll:
