Ah sorry, the first 3 images didn't upload properly. I actually pm Dr. Lu with images of the pot, and he ID'd it as late 50s from when F1 just started up based on the lid inscription.

Often these “my uncle bought this xyz years ago” storied turn out to be off a couple of years.
Still, give it a deep, deep clean! Have a look at the Reset and clean Yixing topic here on the forum. Items this old and unused can amass all sorts of unpleasant things...

That's a really nice shuiping. How big is it, 100-150 ml? If so, it's pretty much my dream pot in terms of size and clay. Don't forget to thank your grandma

It's about 75 mL, so perfect for yancha and other roasty oolong. Will do re: cleaning and updates!

Beautiful! Yes, late 50s-early 60s nan meng chen. This pot is quite valuable, take good care of it
these are quite rare.

Very nice pot!
Personally I wouldn’t use a pot like this since it’s a rare $$$$ pot + family heirloom. At the very least I’d reserve it for special occasion yancha ($3+/g) only.

It would be a waste not to use it! After all a teapot unused is just a piece of useless clay!
They’re not that fragile... hearsay has it they can even take boiling water
Connecting with your elders via the same object, nothing wrong with that.

Haha indeed the light can play tricks - but real, pure Hongni is a lot less red than the name and modern Hongni suggests... 60s and earlier Hongni is indeed more of a brownish red-orange.
Next to pure Zhuni(which is more orange and intense) or a Neiwailinjiang, it looks almost dirty and dull.
Don’t be fooled by many modern nuclear red Hongni

Pure HongNi looks caremel in colour under warm lighting.
