And here is a green label niangao clay pot which I got from Emmett. I'm quite happy with it ; it definitively has a mutening effect, though subtle.

- Clay type. Niangao, medium fired.
- Size of pot. 85 ml.
- What year/decade the pot was made. Green label ; 80s.
- If the pot is thin-walled, medium, or thick-walled. Medium-thick walls.
- How long is the pour? 7-10 sec.
- What type of tea you make with it. I use it with sheng with good results. I read somewhere that niangao clay had no effect on the tea, but I think it cuts some bitterness and gives a little bit more body. Since it is not over rounding I guess I could use it with almost any tea.

It is a modern oot (post 1990s). I don't know the maker

thank you, Steanze, it seems to me it has quite mellowing properties. So far enjoyed most Sheng and green oolong, but oolong is getting bit too flat. Roasted is also OK, but still like more from gaiwan. The thing is that for puerh it is too big for regular gongfu, with rolled oolong I tend to do weaker brews.

New pot, just arrived today. 60s hongni shuiping 85ml. The seller actually told me it's from 58, the start of factory 1 but idk how you'd verify that. Haven't tested firing yet, soaking in water now. Will probably use for aged sheng.

Do you have more photos taken of the inner lid, inner outlet hole and also the base of the teapot?

A new 160ml pot that's likely early 60's. I haven't started using it yet since I'm working on raising an early 70's 160ml first. 60's looks slightly flatter than 70's.

Pretty excited about this new pot. It's an early 80's jade orchid six sided pot made with heixingtu/black star clay. It's prob around 150ml. Really nicely made but shape seems a bit awkward so not sure what teas will work. Anyone have suggestions for what might work with it?

If it wasn’t Zini I would be tempted to try green tea. Maybe black tea can work.

The opening seems small? If you drink it, maybe high roast oolong, something rolled, and something that would benefit from some muting.

Opening is small but should fit most types of tea. It seems this pot would be difficult to unclog due to spout shape. Not sure what heat retention is yet but I'm guessing it's different than the standard shuiping pots I normally use.

I don't drink much oolong but that does seem like it might work assuming it benefits from zini. Might need to try that out.

At that size it will also probably cook the leaves a bit, if you are not careful.

Maybe Puerh or similar would work well?
