A good advice is also to watch how these groups deal with doubts about authenticity, that will tell you a lot about how much they know and possible other motivations, or if it just someone's Ego-trip-group.

Was that a Facebook auction page? I encountered a few Yixing Facebook pages that people try to sell their pots rather than exchange knowledge :?
No, just a "share the knowledge" page... which makes it worse if the intel is no good. I just wanted to mention it, as I know some members here were looking for advice and authentication there... Look for the group which mainly answers questions on seal chops and who supposedly made them and you'll find it rather quickly.
That's sad yet I am not surprise knowing the Chinese community...

The rabbit hole has been quiet lately. Not much actions or new bloods :lol:
I'll post something once I get my mittens on it, after the lockdown ends in this part of the world...

@Andrew S
I look forward to your posting :)
Here is something I picked up this month

I'll let those wiser that I am respond more substantively, but in the meantime, there's something about that pot that makes me think that it'd enjoy some aged puer, liubao or similar (but then, I might say that about most pots).

What are your plans for it?

Yeah... it is shocking though bad the pots posted in there are and how many unsuspecting collectors go there for advice, when they clearly have no clue at all...

And, nice pot, see you are joing the big-pot-clan, haha

@Andrew S I'd say you are spot on with your guesstimate!

@Bok
I didn’t know big pot clan exist lol. I guess it depends on what tea. I couldn’t imagine the big pot clan drinking high quality Yancha. The thought of it feels like burning money in the movies.

@Andrew S
It works well with shu. If you zoom in on the base, I left a circular mark from last time brewing shu. Maybe when the pandemic is done, I can enjoy some shu with friends :)

They do exist and they do drink yancha in it! I was even made to try it myself. Secret is not to scale the proportions, but to use 2/3 empty...

My hongni biandeng got lonely. Now it has two chubby little hongni shuiping friends.

And there I was, only a few short months ago, thinking that there really isn't any need for more hongni pots... That may well still be true, but the logical part of me has been overpowered by the teapot part of me.

At least one day, I might be granted official membership in the small-pot-clan...

Thank you; and your contribution of one of those new teapot friends will get some close-up photos, once I get the time to play with it a bit more. First stop: the hongcha that you kindly included.

@Andrew S if you use that pot, I would recommend a lofty covering of the bottom with Hongcha leaves, so you can barely see the bottom. As a friend of mine put it, like a forest floor in autumn...
