Is it correct that even zhuni today isn't 100% zhuni? I thought that it needed to be blended atleast a little. The more shihuang the harder it is to successfully fire?
There will always be additives as ZhuNi ore cannot stand firm on it's own. When I say not pure, I meant there will be traces of other types of clay , what some may call impurities. Try putting your LQER binding under the magnifier and you will understand what I mean.

Cheers!!

I am curious as well :)
I want to get an idea on how much to save for haha
Zhuni from that period in good condition will be minimum 2000-4000$

I heard ZAG selling less in demand Zini Biandeng in 40ml for 2000, so...
DailyTX it was 2000USD plus shipping. It has chips around the lid skirt which is why it's on the lower end of boks range. Perfect condition id bet itd be closer to $3000
Haha one zhuni pot from ZAG = 10-20 F1 pots :D such expensive cargo, I think it’s probably better to do a detour to Singapore on my next trip to HK. I am afraid of damaging the pot in shipping

10-20 not overly good F1 maybe, 4 better ones maybe :)

And no Zhuni!

Reminds me, some styles of early F1 can be over 1000 a pot! So it’s all relative

60s and 70s F1 pots are nice because the clay is good and the session can be more relaxed. Some are also very expensive for various reasons. The rear handle jiazini gezuis from the early 60s are very beautiful, the design is by Gu Jingzhou and the spout shape is very elegant. Another expensive early F1 is the benshanlvni dragon egg, because of the rarity of the clay. There aren't many benshan lv ni pots around in F1 nor in ROC nor in Qing... it's also a difficult clay to work with.

$2000 for lao zhuni is a reasonable price, the condition seems quite good.

Are there any pictures around of the benshanlvni dragon egg?

Would this one be considered overly good or better ones? :)

That's a very good pot. The clay is nice, it brews tea well, and it can still be found for quite reasonable prices.

It is not one of the rarer/better F1s such as the ting ji marked pots, the 60s bsln, the 60s jiazini gezui, the 60s hongni shuipings marked shi er bei ("12 cups")... those are the ones that usually cost a leg...

Yes, but unfortunately they are "photobucketed" https://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?t=20655&start=120

60s 12 cup hongni is on my list. I haven’t encountered a source to get the 12 cups yet but yeah it will cost a leg :(

Are you prepared to spend in the neighborhood of $1-2k? Because that's the price range...

for that price, I'd prefer the Zhuni from above any day! That is where Yixing market sometimes defies common sense...
