Would you call the shape of our pots Bell Shape?
I don't remember, I'll check later the paper that came with it to see how they named the shape :)

Also, regarding calligraphy on bottom, I thought it looked pretty nicely done compared to other ones I’ve seen. Do you by any chance have any examples of older / newer ones, that are similar? I had a file on this but seem to have misplaced it.
My comment on the calligraphy was not meant to be about the aesthetics - it does look very nice. Also, I don't have enough knowledge of calligraphy to make a critical assessment of the style. I meant that the type of carving and style of calligraphy does not look like those of Qing pots. Here are a couple of examples:
Ok, Yes they look different. Since I can't find my folder, here is a post by fellow member Thsu, and his 90s Taiwan pots with similar calligraphy on bottom of pot. Go to 'Spring edition Part 1': http://themandarinstea.blogspot.com/2009/03/

Yes, this type of pots have been made since the '90s, my initial guess based on clay texture was that yours is from after 2000, but I don't have a high confidence in that guess, so it is very possible it is from the '90s :)

Yeah I'm not 100% sure either, just a hunch it's a Taiwan special order. I bought it on looks alone :D . On a scale the 250ml Tokoname is 150gr, and the 200ml Bell Shape 156gr. The clays are pretty different, but both are thight and thin walled.

It's a nice shape, it has an "ancient" feeling.

This is a F1 Hongni from the period 1987 / 1992.
Two batches have been made by F1 during that period, the first one made of porous, unmixed Hongni clay, as in this case. its about 125ML. I use this pot for my roasted oolongs.

140ml
Qing Shui Ni
Medium fired
Thick walled
<10 sec pour (never timed, fast)
Made 80's to 90's
Calligraphy reads, "China FuJian Province Tea Import and Export Company Xia Men Subsidiary Gift," or so I was told
Brewing aged sheng puer. The thick walls and clay type seem a good match for aged sheng; has a nice effect on the brew, neither too rounding nor too clarifying.

I got this because I like the ba le shape and clay looked good. I would appreciate more information, like approximate age or manufacturer/factory. Thanks!

Yes, brewing well! The person I bought this from said it was given as a gift with tea purchase (as calligraphy states.) The good old days I guess. I wonder who made these for the Fujian tea company?

Nice designs by British artist. Have you touched or own any of these pieces ? I wonder where the clay used is sourced?

Check out the little beauty I just got. Its 105 ml
Custom order from 2007 from an older batch of unmixed Hongni. The clay is probably 60s or 70s.
The potter who made this teapot is a semi-anonymous 5th rank Yixing craftsman whose name is 志刚.
very thin walled and very high fired. Havent tried it yet. May hold off and just enjoy its beauty as is.
