Thank you for the helpful insight! I am reconsidering my decision on this aforementioned pot. I am leaning toward this other 80's Duanni. I like the unique craftsmanship. I was thinking it would possibly make a good Shou or Red/Black Tea pot. Although any final decision would require further investigation and experimentation.Chadrinkincat wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 12:48 pmI use mine for aged oolong because it brings out aged flavor while smithing out roughness of cheap tea. I tried it with young sheng too but it didn’t seem like good match. It’s a pretty drippy pot so functions more like a 120-150ml pot.TeaTotaling wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 8:14 pmThanks! I haven’t committed to this one just yet. I have another red pot I might choose over this one. It is certainly very nice though. I would be curious to hear howChadrinkincat likes it!
Anyone use 80's Duanni for Shou or Red/Black Tea? Also, anyone familiar with functionality of this style of pot?

Who has experience with old red clay (Late Qing/Early Republic)? Just from the picture, this looks to be Hongni more so than Zhuni, but I could be wrong. I'll yield to those with more expertise. I like the simplicity and curves of this pot, and I might add it to my final trio that's in the works.

Brilliant! It's 200ml, a bit big for those higher end Cliff Teas, although no need to fill to the brim. I do have a 50ml Pan Hu Zini I was considering for Wuyi. I was leaning more toward Liu Bao for this one. Testing and tasting would be the only way to know for sure. There is a profound enjoyment to be had in theorizing, and anticipating.Chadrinkincat wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 12:51 pmI was considering inquiring about this one too. Weird for some reason I was thinking this one was around 120ml.
Do you know the price on this one?

This is a Late Qing/Early Republic offering. There are a few that look quite similar. This is $1,763.94 to be exact.Chadrinkincat wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 2:30 pmTeaTotaling

Speaking of Zisha Art Gallery... missing lid, small chips... $887. Seriously? Or is there something special about this jar I don't see?

It's "Proven" to be Mid Qing? From a Trusted source?Mark-S wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 3:30 pmWouldn't the missing lid be a dealbreaker? And why is this jar so expensive and my jar isn't? Sometimes I simply don't get it.

Good sir, have you made any purchases from the fine folks at ZAG? Specifically in the Yixing Teapot Department? If so, thoughts??
