Just to be clear, both lids are replacements, the original broke in a few pieces.

Peter signs his pots, yes. He also splashes some glaze over the outside sometimes in a wabi sabi manner. He’s the one guy I’ve seen in Taiwanese pottery who is maniac about getting his pots as thin as possible, which make them such great tools for tea.

Pot looks great! Would have used it immediately if i hadn't already drunk too much tea today.

Can you show me an example of his signature on a pot? I want to know what to look for. Thank you! Here are some more pictures of the bottom:

Can you also share some pictures of your Song wood fired tea wares? What teas are you pairing them with?

The only thing I've bought from them are a set of cups and a gaiwan. i think their pots are overpriced, having seen them in person.

Those are a few of mine from Daqian(Peter Kuo), also the black tea plate and caddy. Got a few of them, excellent for prepping teas for consumption

My first teapot was from ceramicist Xu De Jia. The walls are quite thick, which I prefer for a potent extraction. It’s 250ml and makes a good, steaming cup of tea. It still gets use, even with my Yixing collection. In fact, I just used it the other day to brew up 15g’s of 2020 Da Xue Shan Sheng. The results were exceptional.

Agreed. Coarse and refined, silky smooth shiny glossy bits of drip and rough bits that I bet still feels soft to the hand....lovely.

@Bokk i really like his handle design! So easy to stick two fingers in and hold lid nub with the thumb for very stable and comfortable hold with no chance of burn. This guy really thought it through!

@debunix the glaze is quite smooth for the most part! The really crinkly parts where it looks like the glaze boiled is slightly rough when stroked from the bottom towards the top. Just really love this guy's pot

One more thing about this pot is that it cools down super rapidly, so no chance of cooking the leaves.

Yes! I love his handles as well, they are avid tea drinkers so function is king for his pieces. When they come out of the kiln, they can be quite rough, so they all get sanded and smoothed on the outside. Otherwise some parts can be like coarse sandpaper, no to speak of other things that form during wood-firing and have to be sanded away.

Thanks for pointing it out! What is the chinese character for his name? Is da qian his name?

Here’s another I have at the office: Guo Ah Qian, need to look up the characters, the Qian is the same as in their logotype (if I may, btw designed by yours truly )
It’s Japanese porcelain/Taiwanese clay blend and glazed.

to be honest, I don't even know which direction to hold it, it's not legible at all
