Antique teacup set need help identifying

I visited my mother tonight. We were talking about teas and she showed me a tea cup set bought by my father in an antique store in the 1950’s.

I don’t know anything about them. My mother told me to use them but I’m afraid. Those black lines at the rim look like lead.

Anyway, can anyone share what they know about these cups by looking at them? How old are they? Where are they from? What do these Chinese characters mean?

Any information no matter how small will be greatly appreciated as it will give me insight to my late father who was an avid tea drinker.

Thank you.

Very nice set! Definitely has some age. My first impression of the colour of the glaze and the porcelain, is that it’s probably somewhere 1920s onwards?

Also looks like the painting is transfer not hand painted.

Looks definitely transfer printed to me. The general consensus is that if transfer printed, if Chinese, it's often from the 1950s and onward. Although I believe that there are a few pieces here and there that are earlier. That said, it could be Japanese instead.

I think the cup's stamp says ”大樱轩制“. Checking on baidu, it looks like there's one plate that looks very similar. https://www.cang.com/trade/goods/619602 ... glemessage Says it's from the end of Qing. So it could be 1st half 20th century.

@Bok @Hmm

Thank you kindly for your help. I did not expect to get any response since this is more of a tea forum than an antique forum.
