I seem to see a lot of threads started asking about yixing that end up turning into requests for trusted vendors for F1 and older pots. Here are the ones I know of (not many). Lets make a list.

This shop has antiques and F1:
https://thechineseteashop.com/collectio ... ng-teapots

A word of caution, they do not clean their antiques, in my opinion a prerequisite to be sure 100% if antiques are authentic or not. Prices are also pretty steep for mediocre stuff like green label Neiziwaihongs...

Indeed, steep prices on some of the stuff. Also, a lot of the "80's" stuff is more like 90's. But worth checking out anyway.

@Chadrinkincat interesting isn't it? :mrgreen:

Also this tendency to conveniently label antiques as Qing, when in reality most experts will always be on the cautious side and label as Late Qing/Early ROC, as one can really rarely be that sure. Even the antiques are quite pricey for some of the commoner pots with very, very rough workmanship...

I think in terms of quality and authenticity from all this list Zisha art gallery is probably the best option. East Asian collectors demand pristine, clean condition, that shows in their offer.

This vendor offers questionable pots at best. Hard pass on everything except for the $87 julunzhu which is a very fast pouring pot.

ZAG on the other hand is A+ if someone is looking for hard to find pots that Emmett doesn’t offer.

I have heard from mutual acquaintances that he now only sources tea ware on request. Guess he overestimated the demand when acquiring the current large stock of teapots... but then, better pictures and descriptions, as well as less Neiziwaihong could help his case ;)

ya, the NZ seems to be everywhere.
I think chen priced himself out of the market when he first started. He has since brought his prices down quite a bit. I also found that he is a bit loose with his sizing. I bought an early 70s hongni that was to be 90ml. Showed up and was 70ml.

I find HY Chen's prices very much in line with Emmett's, both being based on taiwanese market and a reasonable markup.
The prices at zishaartgallery seem to be almost double of that, which is not that surprising them being based in Singapore.

@Brent D

70ml is a less versatile size than 90ml so I’d be pretty pissed. I assume this is the pot your currently selling?

His initial price for those 60-80ml 60’s pot was like $1200. This price was above what ZAG was selling their 60’s stuff for.

I get the impression that everyone that wants a 60-70ml pot already owns one or isn't willing to spend much for it. I’ve had people interesting in the mid 70’s 60-70ml I have but a number of people want to pay late 80’s prices.
