mm this one looks weird, not regular patch due to clay mixing... the pot looks modern...DailyTX wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 12:33 amAndrew S
Here is a pot that’s more obvious.

Yixing
+1 not from mixed clay. More like some strange specific dirt? (maybe the pot wasn't cleaned well) or strong tuhei at that spot.steanze wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 1:06 ammm this one looks weird, not regular patch due to clay mixing... the pot looks modern...DailyTX wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 12:33 amAndrew S

Sorry about the link. Here is a photo of what I was seeking advice about. It's a vague curve line due to a higher concentrated red dots and elongated red clay mixed in from the duan ni.steanze wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 1:06 ammm this one looks weird, not regular patch due to clay mixing... the pot looks modern...DailyTX wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 12:33 amAndrew S

no problem. Sorry, it's very hard to tell from this picture, I cannot quite see what it is.
That’s not such a good sign then… could be a later period then, or F2
The scratch could also indicate that it’s coated. Such a thin mark seems unlikely to come from a tool. It seems a tad too shiny for Hongni, unless it’s patina.
