Here is a pot that’s more obvious.

mm this one looks weird, not regular patch due to clay mixing... the pot looks modern...

+1 not from mixed clay. More like some strange specific dirt? (maybe the pot wasn't cleaned well) or strong tuhei at that spot.

Sorry about the link. Here is a photo of what I was seeking advice about. It's a vague curve line due to a higher concentrated red dots and elongated red clay mixed in from the duan ni.

no problem. Sorry, it's very hard to tell from this picture, I cannot quite see what it is.

It’s difficult to capture the pattern from my old iPhone camera. Maybe seeing your photos later will allow me to compare and contrast :)

No it’s not, it looks like a kind of thin scratch under the magnifying glass.
There’s a lot, but I mean a lot of tiny black dots. Like twice or three times as many compared to other pots of approx same period.

That’s not such a good sign then… could be a later period then, or F2

The scratch could also indicate that it’s coated. Such a thin mark seems unlikely to come from a tool. It seems a tad too shiny for Hongni, unless it’s patina.

Yeah, that doesn’t look right for 70s. And that definitely looks like a crack in either clay, or glaze. Not a scratch.
