@Andrew S That's what I'm talking about! Good stuff!! Yeah, just stick with ZAG for the LQ/RoC Zhuni. Seems like a safer bet. While you payed a pretty penny for the potential knock off, thankfully it wasn't 3x that!

Bok will probably judge me for saying this, but I'm going to try brewing some old liu an in it next time...
Andrew
It’s such a beautiful pot...
And damn right I’m absolutely judging you for that, haha. But, whatever rocks your boat, you’ll come to your senses quickly and brew decent tea in it.

I might add that in this instance I have a rare case of pot envy

that new pot is really nice looking
@Bok. the clay does look super soft, almost like it was formed and is drying still before being fired.
heres a little sandy black zini which to be honest I'm still wrestling with a bit. It seemed to work well for bringing out more aroma in various teas, so I had been using it for liu an and light liu bao that has more going on aroma-wise, but I feel like its also highlighting a lot of bitterness too in teas that otherwise are quite sweet which I'm not so hot on. maybe its just what I've been drinking and trying in it lately, but I wonder if maybe its better left to something else- oolong maybe? curious what other people pair with similar pots.

I don't know if it's genuine (and I don't care much), but I am very happy that this pot did not break.
It was protected only by newspaper and these teapots with brass handles break very easily (got 3 damaged ones already...) Looks very cool next to my other teapots.
I will use this for decoration only.

He asked, behind the scenes, haha! Uploading the photo on TF gave an accurate depiction. Definitely, an enjoyable pot to behold, and use.

Anybody who could translate this mark for me? It's my own pot. I'd like to find more information about it online, but so far I got nothing.
Update: Got it

It looks like "華鳳祥造" to me, and searching for it brings up the same seal.
I should note that I know next to no Chinese, although I'm starting to recognize certain structures and characters. I just use this website, and a bunch of patience:
https://www.qhanzi.com. I felt too embarrassed leaning on my friend from Taiwan too much, asking him to help me interpret seal scripts. Some seals are clearly easier than others. This one was such a case and I could draw it and figure it out in less than 10min.
EDIT: Ah, I see you figured it out, although I think your order is wrong
EDIT2: Small correction to characters.
EDIT3: Worth searching for "Hua Fengxiang" too.

@bliss
Thank you very much! I did not know this website. I used the Google Translator app (camera mode) to get the characters. And yes, my order was wrong.

A sideways anecdote: recent price I saw here for a 60s Hongni Shuiping 12-cups. Asking price the equivalent of 1600USD!
M e n t a l .
I knew these large ones are sort of rare, but that price is not worth it. For that price I can get a nice antique instead...

yes those are steep. I might even consider selling mine at those prices
