I highly recommend you get plenty of winter 2018, across the board a very good season. I’m starting to think that because it was a warm winter in Taiwan tea trees didn’t have a change to rest with cooler winter cycle, leading to less than desirable Spring leaves.
@Victoria I certainly agree that the Winter 2018 harvest was excellent and that people should get some while they still can. I can't speak for others but I have very little of this tea still available.

This spring has been a difficult harvest and the tea is spotty. There are some very good examples (I have encountered some good Muzha TGY) and some not so good (I haven't yet found a bao zhong that I will stock.) The problem with harvest was not so much the warmth but the lack of rain. This actually delayed the development of the leaves and the harvest was 10 days to 2 weeks behind "normal." This in turn reduced the size of the crop. I know that most of my growers are just now getting their pesticide free certifications. I'll then need to taste the approved samples to confirm (or not) my initial impressions. Getting the tea onto the market here is still a couple of weeks away.

I want to emphasize that the harvest was "difficult" - not universally poor (see e.g. the comment about the apparently very good SLX from Floating Leaves - perhaps it was in the oolong section.) For those who are careful there are some very fine teas to be had. They are going to be a bit more expensive, however, due to the shortage.

Just want to give a big shout out to @Tillerman. I ordered some of his 2016 Oriental Beauty on 5/16 and it was waiting in my mailbox for me this afternoon. Super speedy shipping which just so happened to be free shipping since I'm in North America! The product was well packaged and while I have not had the chance to brew any yet, the quality of the dry leaf seems excellent and gives off a lovely aroma. Can't wait to dive into this one.

Anyone had theformosa.com high mountain tea?

Hi all
I'm looking to try a variety of Taiwanese high mountain oolongs.
In terms of pricing theformosa appears to be the lowest.
I haven't been able to find any particular reviews or tasting notes of their tea so far.
Has anyone here tried them? Are they high quality?
Thanks

@Hengchan Welcome to TeaForum. I have not tried theformosa.com but for high mountain I highly recommend you review member recommendations in this thread. Many very good high mountain sources are listed here. Also, looking through other posts in Vendor Discussion & Recommendations will be helpful, such as Online tea stores dispatching from within the EU?.
The lowest pricing does not equate quality experience, typically it is the opposite.

I seem to remember the vendor saying that you can’t buy his teas from abroad at the moment...

Pricing also unlikely to be the same as inside Taiwan.

Yes, as Bok mentioned @esontea said at present one can’t buy his DaYuLing outside of Taiwan.

We only do business in Taiwan at the moment.Perhaps there will be a website dedicated to selling tea to other areas.
But not yet.

Now the quickest way is to come straight to our tea garden and visit me.
