Lucky for me, for that is hands down the best oolong I have tasted! Sure, it's moderately expensive, but worth it. But he has other teas that are really good as well, at a fraction of the price you'd think something that good would cost. A case in point is this awesome white "daily drinker" below, which I might have gone a bit overboard on ordering ... 200 more pieces of. But I don't feel I'll regret it. Not by taste in any case.

Not overboard at all considering it is pretty stable stuff that should benefit with age

Time to try a new vendor! I like what I read in the blog.

Any current must have teas? Definitely going to include some of those squares...

They recently got some boutique shou that you might like to try. Shou is not my thing- but I heard these are very good - small batch and the water used is carefully selected mountain spring water for the piling. - I would go for the loose versions

I've never taken to shou, when I drink them it's mostly free samples (same for hongcha - must be something about the top end oxidation levels for me), but EoT has the odd liu bao I really enjoyed on some of these hot and humid summer days we're having here right now. I think it's a type of tea that can make one feel very good under the right circumstances, so I am increasingly inclined to actively sample nice and clean heichas now!

I just took note of your YC reports here, I'll go back through them to get an impression, thank you. I enjoy reading a bit about teas where possible whilst compiling a big enough basket of samples to justify the journey to my door step.

White squares definitely recommended. They're also my favourite for travelling, due to their convenient size. Overall, go with lots of samples on your first purchase from YC. Lots! Then buy bigger from the ones you like the very best. For my sake, I have primarily bought PuErh from YC, and since the "once I like best" turned out to be many, I do have rather a storage problem now. But I also tried out some oolongs, which were a category I really hadn't intended on exploring too much, and YC simply has the best! Get yourself some samples of those, and decide for yourself. (I would recommend my absolute favourite, OL015, but it's sold out.)
