It’s about being realistic: why offer a rare tea that possibly never sells, instead of selling it at home where it sells for sure?

There is also an element of Chauvinism to it, pearls to the pigs… there are a lot of items Wistaria has that you won’t get access in Taiwan to either, only pre booking and if you have the connection to the owners.

Right, I have a few exceptional aged 70s, 80s oolong sourced by a friend via the owner at Wistaria, back room top quality.

I’m told he’s not the owner anymore. Apparently he’s got the largest stock of old Puerh in the whole of Asia. They surely won’t run out of anything anytime soon, lol.

Don't know what the story is. I've heard the location is owned and leased by the city. 3 years is a long time.

Don't know how much money they actually made with the in-house service anyways. Ppl blocking a table for hours, slowly drinking tea for hours, even being able to bring your own for a water fee... that and that the original owner sold it and not sure how much access they still have to his famous stock of Puerh.
