What types of teapots were used in Asia for brewing medicinal herbal teas?
You use past tense in your question and I think mostly likely the pot used was very similar to what we use today. For boiling Chinese herbs, I use a very large (850ml?) side handle thick ceramic pot that is glazed inside, sometimes outside also. It goes on a gas stove over a diffuser, and or over open flames.
That is some very interesting style of pot!Victoria wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 12:36 amYou use past tense in your question and I think mostly likely the pot used was very similar to what we use today. Qi pottery on instagram posted once that in the past mostly side handle pots were used to cook medicine.
That's amazing that it can be used over an open flame, I'd be worried to use it.Victoria wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 12:36 amYou use past tense in your question and I think mostly likely the pot used was very similar to what we use today.
