Spearmint tea from Dragon Tea House. This has a really intense fresh flavour and I like that it's the whole dried herb rather than the finely chopped leaves of most spearmint teas I've tried before.
It's true, all I've triedentropyembrace wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2017 10:28 pmSpearmint tea from Dragon Tea House. This has a really intense fresh flavour and I like that it's the whole dried herb rather than the finely chopped leaves of most spearmint teas I've tried before.

have been as you have described.
For what you present you must have
a very special taste in the palate;
thanks for the contribution, I put it
in my desires.
How did you infuse with teapot, gaiwan ...?
cheers

I use a glass teapot (so it won't hold the aroma like a clay pot would) and boiling hot water. Not sure of infusion time since I don't time it. It's limited by your tolerance for menthol rather than bitterness or astringency of true tea.lac63 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2017 9:38 amIt's true, all I've triedentropyembrace wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2017 10:28 pmSpearmint tea from Dragon Tea House. Organic rooibos via Vienna, Austria. Bought this stuff years ago and while the aroma and flavor have changed, it's still pleasant drinking, surprisingly!
Yes, I deliberately bought it there weil vielen leuten trinkt rooibos in Wien!

This is where I bought it--my parents brought me tea from this store for years, including flavored mate!

Pretty good! The salt was waaay too much in the first infusion, so I saved it off and poured a bit into later infusions (I read this on a few websites that talked about brewing techniques). Overall it was kind of bite similar to umeboshi, but with a sweeter aftertaste where the sakura really came out. It was only good for about three infusions though; which I guess is maybe expected. I don't know if it was the salt or the flower (or a mixture of both), but the tea was very thick, and I could see it actually clinging to the cup much more than other teas I drink.
I typically don't even try tisanes, but I had this sample, and it turned out way better than I expected. I'm probably going to order some more in the future, just so I have something to mix up my palette every once in a while

Interesting choices. Where are you getting your herbs from? In the past I’ve ordered from Mountain Rose Herbs out of Oregon, many are organic wild sourced. They have nice blends as well, like this fun oneShine Magical wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 2:05 pmAfter a pleasant experience in trying lemon balm tea (slightly calming), I've placed an order for 1oz each of:
Nettle Leaf
St. John's Wort
Valerian Root
Skullcap
Yarrow Leaf & Flower

Also, Herb Pharm, in Oregon as well, has organic wild sourced tincture extracts that are nice to use as a spritzer in 1-2oz of sparking water. The company is very interesting to follow as they source herbs around the world, they even have an on-site Herbaculture Internship Program.

I'm growing more interested in herbal teas as I'm getting tired of having caffeinated teas be the default choice all the time...
I might try some more exotic herbs/flowers next but this seemed like a nice starting point.
