Same tea, small pot. Very nice once again... It feels very elegant and very refreshing, as mentioned before.

Those aren't concepts that I have associated with most hong cha that I have tried in the past, but this tea makes me want to explore the genre a lot further.

Lishan black tea from Hojo tea. Wow! So so good! Honey vanilla smothest black tea I’ve ever had. With a touch of floral notes that remind me lishan oolong. If there was a tea to bring on a deserted island and I had only one choice it would be this one.

Looks & sounds delicious! I keep hearing good things about those Lishan blacks, hopefully can try some soon.

aroma is sweet and smooth, like forest and mountains in a distance

Where did you get your lapsang? I'm always on the lookout for good examples of this tea.

Nice! I saw they had a comparison set of a smoked and an unsmoked lapsang.

Kenya kirinyaga- Palais de thé. I wanted some simple Scottish breakfast tea today( old habit) and unfortunately I don’t have anymore nor can I find it in France. So I thought this one would make me happy. Not my cup of tea. Some weird fishy after taste. Better with milk.

What are the differences between Scottish and English/irish/etc breakfast teas?

Quick Google search suggest english<irish<Scottish in terms of strength and robustness. Also english blend tends to have less assam and more Ceylon and African than the others (or more keemum if traditional). Irish tends to be mostly assam. Scottish seems similar to Irish but stronger and possibly more smoky?

As such, you might have better luck getting some pure robust assam ctc and spike in some amount of smoked lapsang

Hmm great info! I never thought of breaking it up like that. This is the tea I used to be obsessed before I started adventuring around .

Irish is more astringent. Scottish more round and malty.
