It is difficult to say this one is not too sweet because I do not know what is too sweet for you
I prefer high mountain red teas and those are sweeter than e.g. Keemun.
This tea remains me Da Hong Pao......maybe because it contains a lot of golden tips.

Chiyonoen Tea Farm - Snowing Mountain Organic Wakōcha Sayamakaori (Spring Picking)
This is one of those teas you order and quickly realize you should have ordered much more of! That says a lot coming from me, as I generally don't "love" many black teas I've tried. However, this Wakōcha is now on my short list of exceptions, and it’s definitely one of my favorites.

it's always tricky when it's a new type of tea or from a new producer or a new product from someone you might not know that well.... I've done it wrong in both directions many times, over ordered something that sounded good on the website but wasn't that well fit to my palate, and missed the boat on a one-off special. Hopefully this will be a regular offering so you can continue to take advantage.
Today I'm drinking a 2020 Hong Yun (a.k.a. Red Rhyme, No. 21) from Wang Family Tea (4 g/120 ml/195F/40, 40, 50, 50, 60, 75, etc.). I get lovely notes of raisin, grapefruit, rose, orchid, honey, and malt, but the tannins are making their presence known from the very start of the session. True to its name, I get a citrus aftertaste (or rhyme) after drinking, but the tannins are making this tea less enjoyable than I'd like. Wang rarely has issues with bitterness in their oolongs, but it seems more common in their hongcha.
Cool, wet, windy day (well, 'cool' relative to usual Summer temperatures around here), so it's a good time to get some hongcha out.
Finally getting around to trying a sample of DXJD's LinCang DanZhu DianHong (this one is from 2020 - yes, it's taken a while...). Their website says that it is from a single old tree, assuming the 2020 one was the same as the more recent vintages, and while those kinds of claims are often dubious, I think I can trust the claim in his case.
Excellent tea, as expected from DXJD (and as hoped for, noting the price). There's a lovely pure, bright, 'watery' character to the mouthfeel, and a bright, lingering, aromatic aftertaste. The tea feels very cool and cooling overall. It's also very rewarding just to smell the warm wet leaves in the teapot between brews.
That's the kind of character I've come to expect from old bush teas - more about the mouthfeel, aftertaste and overall character than about the flavour or aroma. The kind of tea that you just want to drink more of.
