true true!... I stay clear of smoke or camphor description. simply not my kind. Just very recently I was having some tea with a friend and she had served me a tea that mind you was described as having camphor notes. Before I knew that detail, I could have never imagined that camphor was the main description of the tea. ...Well, I had a good chuckle afterward. Tea was good, I can reproduce the camphor taste in my memory but it was not the camphor taste that I imagined it would be.

As far as dirty socks taste or wet dog, that is why I am so scared to try any puehr. One day maybe...I have some puehr I never opened  but no day has been enough courageous for me to dive. Mind is a powerful thing
If you do open pu, use something that you can thoroughly clean, and keep it away from your other pots.

That hong kong storage odor stuck around and i realize I was also smelling it from my kettle..so I had to wash that out too. Took a week for me to stop smelling that stuff in the house as everything got cleaned

Ah good tip. Thank you. I have the pu stored in a different place in the basement, I'll probably post of my experience after I try it or hope a friend will serve it to me and tell me its just golden infused tea :D

Wisteria black high mountain tea Ruguo

Some Christmas orders for myself but I couldn't resist to try this one and wait. It was love at first smell. Taste is dry raisin ending with a nice light touch of smokey flavor. Wisteria does not describe much about the tea but I found this one to be a top favorite for me.

I spent some very pleasant time with some new teas from Ketlee.in, including this Arunachal Purple Leaf Black Tea:

12 seconds then pour with 210 water: a bit of smoke, a bit of fruity, has the malty as described—like this very much, wonderfully balanced
10 seconds same
20 seconds, same
4 infusions, all very nice

It's funny how the weather outside tends to influence our tea choices.

it's a dark and rainy day down here too, so I'm enjoying some Championship Black from Ethan. It somehow felt appropriate, even if I can't describe why that's so (and even if I usually prefer hong cha on dry cool days), but it's a nice flavourful tea on any occasion.

Hello.
I am actually drinking one of my favourite red tea : Yunnan Pine Needle brewed in Ru Yao.
Smooth, spicy, perfect in winter season ;)

Lingia TGFOP 1 Darjeeling tea from House of Tea (www.houseoftea.ca).

5g in 500 mL
3.5 mins @ 90C

I used to really love this shop's Upper Namring Estate tea, but it's been out of stock for quite a while. The owner recommended the Lingia to me as a possible replacement. It's definitely a different tea, less musky and tropical, more floral. Orange blossom water on the tip of my tongue, which opens out into a pink soapy rose. Well, it doesn't taste like soap, but I'm trying to say it's light and acidic and maybe even citrusy, rather than dark and jammy. Nice piney briskness, and a creamy sandalwood and jasmine aftertaste. Nice.
