Incredible pictures. That's one of the teas from them that I've really loved, there's so much depth. Love the pot as well, where did you get it?

Some tea given to me by a non-tea drinker it was gifted to, a medium aged lower grade white affair.
After very slowly chipping away at the cake over time, I finally decided to throw it out because it feels off in the stomach.
I never enjoy throwing tea away, but I have come to suspect that the wrapper some tea comes in cost more than what is inside.
Perceived quality seems inversely correlated to the size of gold lettering.

Thank you for your kind words, I picked this teapot up from Artistic Nippon, it's a 265ml Fugetsu, and it was very reasonably priced for such a well-made teapot, I use it primarily for my Oolongs but it also works well for the white / purple teas as well. I have come to really appreciate this offering over at YS, I feel it is one of their Gems, most people I that I know that has tried it all have nice things to say about it.Thundercleese wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 7:11 pmIncredible pictures. Enjoyed a final session with white tea from Jirisan, Korea, by Oh Yeong Soon via Morning Crane's Tea Buy Korea 2021. It's been sitting in the cabinet for a long time, and retained delicate floral and fruity notes, really wonderful, and lasting through 4 or 5 infusions. So nice.
In the morning St. Clair's Excelsior White tea with an infuser and a mug. [1]

Unfortunately, I waited too long to get the white tea set from Daxue Jiadao and it's now out of stock. Has anyone had the Baihao Yinzhen Wuyangshan 2020? Is it worth the price? How does it compare with the Baihao Yinzhen Chaitoushan Huangye 2023, which I'm also thinking about buying? I should make up my mind while these teas are still available!
I probably should have picked a different cup because they are just blending into this complex Petr Novak glaze like they're deliberately camouflaged.
Now infusing Grandpa style in the big chawan with 195 degree water, letting go a couple of minutes before filling with cool water to slow the steep....
The scent accurately predicts the floral, fruity qualities of the steep. Very nice.
Hojo's Bai Ying Shan 2017. Got a cake of it few years back and its a great white tea with very pleasant notes of green grapes and guava. While most white teas of Yunnan tend to give very herbal and low notes after a few years, this one is vibrant and sweet which is exactly the kind of white tea I want to drink in the morning. I hope it develops into more dried fruit, minus the herbal, as it ages. Totally worth it I think its now out of stock in Hojo's white tea lineup... The other white teas I've had aren't as sweet imo - Ma An Shan 2016 was herbal.
