Do you think they're teas are worth the price? I've considered ordering their tasting box.
What Oolong Are You Drinking
I'm not huge yancha guy(maybe 300g total before this winter when I've been drinking a lot more), but I liked it and will order from him again in the future. Some of the teas were quite wonderful and expanded my appreciation/taste for yancha (and also decrease my wallet in future lol). I don't know what he has in stock so the tasting set might be updated from what he has in the webpage.Ragamuffin wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 11:23 amDo you think they're teas are worth the price? And how is it?Shine Magical wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 4:32 pmCurrently having Qingxin, from 90K Da Yu Ling - Tea Masters Blog.
It tasted good with 6g/130 ml, it was my first time having Qingxin. It felt well suited for gongfu style.ShuShu wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 4:54 pmAnd how is it?Shine Magical wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 4:32 pmCurrently having Qingxin, from 90K Da Yu Ling - Tea Masters Blog.
It would be a waste to brew a DYL any other way!Shine Magical wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 5:54 pmIt tasted good with 6g/130 ml, it was my first time having Qingxin. Very rich floral taste, sweet and peachy...It's just amazing what the lighter roast brings out.
I actually found it by accident while checking the yancha offering on YS's US website...Really worth it
Two more special observations (had a lot of tea in the last couple of days
):
(1) I just had Stéphane Erler's (Tea-Master's) 2016 FALL ZHUO YAN OOLONG FROM SHAN LIN XI. Truly a remarkable tea. Never had anything like that. Feels like drinking warm light honey. The description says: "heavily insect bitten leaves with low oxidation and light, slow roast." Perhaps this explains it.
(2) Tillerman's Muzha Tiequanyin Spring 2107 - which is a favorite of mine, is certainly one of the best I had in a long long time...

Im thinking about ordering whatever he has left there from that batch. If you live in NYC perhaps we could split! ha ha

I placed a $1,000 order with Stephane last year, sampling all of his oolongs and few of his other teas. I still have about half left to go through.ShuShu wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:08 amLet me know how it goes!!Shine Magical wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2018 11:03 amI have some of this tea, I will go ahead and have some nowShuShu wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2018 9:54 pmTwo more special observations (had a lot of tea in the last couple of days):

2017 Rougui "Matou Yan" from Wuyi Origin. Very nice fruit, spice, and mineral flavors.
Had a Tieguanyin from China yesterday… well that did not go well. Nuclear green variety of TGY as fashionable on the mainland. Although this version was a better quality, I do not get the appeal, just to green for me, almost grassy Japanese. Reminded me a lot of Taiwanese Baozhong, really similar profile, less sweet maybe.
