What Oolong Are You Drinking

Well, I bought 150 g of Alishan Organic 1, 150 g of Alishan Chang Shu Hu, 25 g of Fushoushan, and 25 g of Alishan hongcha from Tea Masters for just over $100. Buying 25 g of each of the first three teas plus shipping would have cost me over $50. Now I just need to wait for the Canada Post strike to end to get my package!

Ouch, good luck with the post! Would be interested to hear your thoughts (good or bad). The FSS took some getting used to but I liked it in the end (or maybe my senses recovered towards the end). It's not the government FSS. Every seller badmouths the government FSS. I wonder if that's to sell their own "FSS". I remember someone organizing government FSS group buys a long time ago, but don't remember details. Do they still run?

Drinking a tiny sample of an unusual old tree Song Zhong from this year. It is low in aroma and very smooth, soft, gentle despite the medium roast. In fact I'm surprised that I dont really taste the roast! Very very high quality, but one must re-wire one's own brain about what pinnacle dancong is like - even in what the chinese consider as top tier oolong, flavor and fragrance are the LEAST important criteria but about texture, mouthfeel and Yun (closest analogy is umami). I think Yun is most elusive... it's easier to understand Cha Qi (feeling) and Hui Gan (after-taste). This dancong has a mouthfeel like the creaminess of yogurt/dairy milk. I think being a sheng pu drinker helps to understand what the fuss is all about with such high end dancong.

I'm gonna have to go back and dig on my computer looking back through my order records to figure this one out. I do think it was the first time I ordered from the retailer... but I just can't remember their name. It's a handwritten label that says 'spring 2021 Meng hai tian oolong black'. The leaves are dark and long and twisty, the smell is very fruity as a dry leaf and the flavor is fruity and spicy and a little bit earthy to give a nice grounding for those fruity and spicy notes. And it's still delightful almost 4 years from harvest. Credit where credit is due but I can't remember who I ordered this from.

Combined remaining amounts of Floating Leaves spring Baozhong and High Mountain with surprisingly good result. Both were very good on their own as well, one more floral, the other buttery smooth.

Very good session with tea habitat's phoenix shit dancong. Quite expensive but i can taste why.

Ive had duck shit variety before (very tasty), but not phoenix version.

I'm very curious now but need to get through some other DCs before I can order more. I've not had many sessions where I can really focus as I like to for Dan Congs, and was sad to realize some of them have been too long in the trunk and are not aging well.

Indian oolong..it sounds a bit weird
How to describe it ..... this tea is something between Darjeeling and not roasting oolong but without strong floral tones as Tie Guan Yin.
Even I feel white tea tones that remains me Yue Guang Bai.....definitely interesting tea

I just got a pouch of Aged Anxi Tanbei TGY from thetea.pl, and it is so enjoyable on a windy, sunny winter day.
It looks a bit like a relative to Yancha, but after initial infusion, when the roast unfolds, the leaves' fruity and juicy base comes out.
