I was gifted this a few years ago and I have no idea what it is. Any ideas? I think it may be cheap supermarket shu but am not sure.

Why not try it and tell us what it tastes like? ;)
I found a similar tea (label slightly different) here for about 40$. It says that it is a shu from 2006...

Thanks! I will get around to trying it sooner or later. I have so many other cakes of shou to work on that I don’t want to break into this one yet. Just curious about any details on this one.

It is from Menghai Ju Ming Tea Factory. Never heard of it. Likely to be something along the lines of what you said.

The wrapper doesn't mention raw or ripe that I can see. If for any reason you would like more info on the cake, look up the SQ code here: http://www.qsxuke.com/index.php

QS marks can all be searched there. It's still relatively basic information, but it may interest you to look at anyway.
