I have the 2013 spring version, its very good. It is what started me drinking sheng puerh.
Hehe, i think that was the very first sheng for me as well! Admittedly, that's the only cake i have tried from them. What about you, did you find any other interesting sheng pressed by urchins?

Tea Urchin is one of my favorite vendors but all I've had from them is yanchas and I got a hefty sample of that Snake Blend due to curiosity. I just had some of it since you mentioned it ;D

Yeah, i heard of them sporting fine oolongs. Guess i'd do some more sampling while replenishing the snake blend.

I already have a hit list of shengs to get from them after perusing steepster which for the most part will be samples as I am still trying to figure out my favorite shengs based on location.

I'll have to give it another shot, it reminded me of a really green oolong. I'm waiting on my Jun 5th EoT order myself :(

Bamboo aged 2008 sheng from Wuyi, a lovely tea I'm glad I stocked up on in 2010 or thereabouts. Wish I'd bought more of it, such a fine mix of earthy, herbaceous, and sweet/caramel notes.

Tea urchin's snake blend is a special tea for me. I love '13 version more, but ran out of it hence it's '14 version's turn.

On my side I have just about 20 grams left of the 2013 version and I am tempted to buy the 2014 version when finances improve. Hopefully it will be comparable to the previous version.

10 years on its hard to look back that long and question tea decisions :-)

True enough. I'd be prepared to invest a fair bit in more tea like it, but not just yet; I've got too much other puerh in the trunk to purchase more in a search for a replacement.

vuanguyen: The Wisteria tea looks more like pure sheng (and maybe better leaf quality) to me, although it's hard to say for sure.

I bought mine from TeaPals. Unfortunately I bought up the remaining stock of four "mushrooms" :) .

From a quick search, it seems to be sold both as ripe and raw, depending on vendor and vintage. Seems to be different versions of it.
@Balthazar I think the sample I got from Wistaria is the same as your tea...the Tibetian flame. I received a reply email from Wistaria tea house saying that the tea was made by a company "下關茶廠 ,Yun-nan Province, China". They also attached the following 3 pictures. They are selling it for 1500 NTD each if you want to buy. It looks a little bit new for a tea made in 2000 though :?:

I had a chance to sample the tea a third time. It tasted to me now like a wild tea... like the one offered by Denong tea house (https://www.denongtea.com/collections/d ... ripe-puerh).

What is your take on it? I've tried a few of the higher ends CSH Ban Zhang products and have found them to vary quite a bit.

@pantry Hoot my EoT haul came in and I thought I'd have to wait a couple more months to see it. Btw that mushroom looking thing looks intimidating :D

EDIT: **Milestone** Opened my first puerh cake today, after watching numerous videos luckily I mess up the cake. Although putting the wrapper back on was done poorly by me.
