Trying out a 2007 Xiaguan ripe tuo today! Guangdong dry storage. Nice, clean tea with sweet aged flavors along with a little camphor. Still some surprising residual bitterness, but not much. Good mouthfeel, but not like an older/traditional storage tea would have. Really a lovely daily drinker type tea for the money!

Today some casual drinking, some 2016 dayi 0532 grandpa style, I was a bit weary of getting it because it was so young but its by far the shou I drink most often, only have about 50g left from the bing I bought last year, its well rounded and full bodied perfect for no frills brewing.

The last of this 2012 Xiaguan TF Snake Tuo Cha Raw Puerh from ChaWang Shop. This is a seriously smokey in your face tea with major strength and an intensely sweet huigan that stays in the back of your throat while constantly making your mouth water. Reminds me a lot of a dry stored 2005 CNNP 7542 I have in storage.

Sweet, semi earthy, apricot preserves and leather. 2005 Changtai "Yun Pu Zhi Dian / Top of the Clouds" Sheng Puerh from Crimson Lotus Tea.

2007 Guangdong dry storage Xiaguan ripe tuo. This tea has aged nicely (sweetly) and has a fair bit of camphor. And since it's been sitting at home in HK for a few days...I'm getting that fresh bread aroma and taste my home storage always seems to bring out of shou!

1997 CNNP Big Red Mark Raw Puerh, a blend from Banna area tea leaves. Hong Kong traditional storage and then moved to Malaysia. It is clean wet storage. Smells of delicious sweet beets much like the 2002 I had recently. From ChaWang Shop.

2017 Chen Yuan Hao Gushu Dragon Ball, (or Egg if you prefer), a raw puerh tea care of Liquid Proust Teas. Super thick creamy mouthfeel. Smooth with no astringency. Apricot and clover up front with unsalted butter in later infusions. Beautiful color as well. Goes on forever. This is an exceptional young sheng with some serious mellow feels after.

2010 Yibang
Aroma after the rinse: sweet, a mix of wildflowers and early-morning bakery. Not far from a Xikong. As the leaves cool down, some aroma of prunes.
Aroma after first infusion: some grassiness on top of the bakery/wildflowers.
Leaves: mostly small, with few medium-sized.
First infusion: good tea, clean processing, reaches well into the rear of the mouth and down the throat, with a stimulating effect on the rear of the palate and the tongue. The flavor is grassy with a hint of fruit and slight acidity. This tea feels a bit younger than it is, I’d have given it 4-5 years instead of 7, might have been stored in quite dry conditions. Nonetheless, it is surprisingly warming. Qi is active, in waves, with a slight but not unpleasant headiness.
Second infusion: the tingling effect in the mouth is very nice. The texture is quite thick and silky. Long lasting clean aftertaste.
