2006 XiaGuan "Yu Shang" (Royal Tuo):

I was better off dropping this tuo off the empire state building than the normal method to breakup a puerh cake.
Even the toughest puerh cake are no match for this..
Great tea though, raw honey with a smokey cinnamon & apple flavor
Thick liquor that coated my throat.
Good stuff!!

@Teas We Like’s 2001 Iron Zhongcha. Super super super good. Smooth and oily, with a sweet finish that lingers forever. A really soothing throaty quality. When’s this tea gonna restock?

This little cup, purchased from the TeaChat special offer, turns out to have quite an affiinity for this tree bark pot, in size, shape, and the way the crawling shino and the treebark each finishes echo each other.

@gregcss I like the looks of that pot - is it one of the ones from Crimson Lotus?

Some shou pu-er gifted from friends wich went to china some time ago.
Quite smooth, slightly earthy, somewhat sweet and floral. Did not expect it to be soo smooth.
If anything it is not too complex, so i guess its not too aged.

1999 Menghai Zhang Xiang Ripe Pu Er. A loose leaf tea from Chawangshop. It has developed nicely over the past few years. It has some camphor (zhang xiang) but what I really notice is a grain or bread like flavor. Is there a traditional name or description for that flavor/aroma?

2007 organic Menku Sheng from Yunnan Sourcing. Earthy, herbaceous notes with a hint of bitterness and bit of camphor.

Careful with that cup, these brown ones are known to leach lead...

Oh really? The glaze looked solid so I never thought to test it. Is that for all versions of the style? I don't know the actual age of this one.

Unfortunately that writing doesn't provide a lot of clues unless "aged"/"matured" and "China, Yunnan" is helpful :)

Is there any more writing on the wrapper?

Probably it fell on the bottom of the bag while i opened the wrapping of the cake.

Yes most, if not all of them. This brown and the red ones are particular heavy cases.
