07 yqh lingya for me tonight

a lovely tea. rarely disappoints. i think it's my favorite tea from yqh.

side note: the blend seems more consistent than other yqh productions with less session-to-session variation.
Thats definitely one of my favorites from Yang. It’s a very relaxing tea.

I'm having 2018 Spring top wild old arbor raw Pu Er marble from TeaMasters. It's definitely bitter and sharp, but not really astringent. This tea is more strong in energy than I'd personally prefer, lol.

2012 ‘Mother Tree’ Purple Tea Cake from The Tea Guru in UK

https://greenteaguru.co.uk/product/2012 ... -tea-cake/

Very fine almost black leaves comprise the cake, in fact they are so thinthat they look like fine sticks when dry. This cake has been dry stored and shows no signs of wet storage. I am enjoying the third steep already but I am a sucker for purple leaf pu'er teas.

Had two really strong and satisfying 80s sheng puerh while exploring and admiring a late 50s Bamboo pot and a late 70s Flat Belly Pot. The tea had a very long lasting huigan and still packs a punch after so many years.

2009 Mengku "1974" premium rw pu-erh from Yunnan Sourcing club. Now a smooth and very sippable tea which has been matured in a dry environment probably Kunming. Recommended.

Hi Rui. (I'm ex-kuanglong from teachat). Nice to see you and some other teachatters posting here. I'm glad you like your Mengku :) . I finished another pot of 2016 YS Big Snow Mountain Wild Arbor last night. Despite being from the same area it tastes pretty different from the '1974' or any Mengku Shuangjiang in my stash but has some nice energy, a northern profile with a touch of florals and dark honey, decent mouthfeel and it's surprisingly sweet after a couple months in storage. I bought two tongs of this stuff for a friend, great bang for the buck IMO.

Just started the day with a pot of 2013 Xiaguan T8653. This one and some older 8653s are some of my hardcore bread and butter standbys. Nothing fancy by any means but sooo satisfying. (About a year ago Canton Tea sold their remaining stash for about 12€/bing and I bought it all without thinking twice  )

2010 Liming Zao Chun tuo

Some of my favorite tuo chas, not at last because I bought a bunch of them from different sources with widely different storage: cryostatic Kunming, dry HK and some with traditional GD storage on the more humid side.
When I first got the latter ones they had a strong note of turpentine or window putty but over the months in a quarantine box those notes settled back and now, about two years later the main theme is some sort of fruity chinese medicine with a touch of camphor, nicely balanced and slightly sweet with sufficient backbone for further aging. I get more than 10-12 interesting steeps out of that material, distinctively more than out of any XG tuo with comparable storage, not bad at all.
