Yan Ming shan sheng 2014 Hojo.
The end of a sample, it had a very good evolution over the years: earned in good qi feeling, the aroma got more present/powerful.

Sunday: 2002 Tai Lian International

Say what you want about Shah, the man knows his pu.

Yesterday: YS 96 Green Mark Te Ji shou

Fantastic while it lasts, which isn't very long. Such is the manner of eensy leaves. Great to have when there's snow on the ground, as there was.

Today: Puerh.sk 09 6FTM Yibang

Anything I could say would be damning it with faint praise. But it was an enjoyable cup, and as I only tried it once, there could be more there than I found.

White2Tea Milk, Cream and Alcohol.
Interesting.
Smokey, peaty, creamy, tabacco...back end astringency.
Sensitive to temp and steep time.
I like it for the price but wouldn’t grab it everyday.
Curious what some age would do to this and will let my 2 bings sit for a while.

This is one of several good reviews I’ve read so far so looking forward to it. Purchased a cake along with some other teas awhile back. Been stuck in processing for over two weeks sadly.

Sweet & semi-smokey goodness from this 2008 Lancang Cha Chang Zi Ya, from TCF Tea. A Zi Ya Cha "purple bud tea” from the Lancang region of Yunnan; a sheng puerh produced in 2008 and sourced from purple tea plants.

Just finished an amazing session of my sample of Special Sauce by Crimson Lotus Tea courtesy of Liquid Proust. Before the rest of my post, go buy a bing of this - only about 5 are in stock and it is totally worth it! The leaf of this is very nice looking, loosely compressed which suits my horrible skills with breaking apart tea. The aroma of the dry leaf is sweet and floral with the signature Liquid Proust storage aroma which is a nice musky mustiness. Wet, the aroma is very similar but sweeter. Taste is similar to the aroma - sweet, musky, and floral. Sweetness really, really lingers in the mouth and there is heavy presence in the throats right off the bat. Qi is very hard hitting, warmth and tingling around temples and sinuses started on my 3rd cup. Highly, highly recommended. Glen says that Slumbering Dragon has a similar musky floral character so I've got to check that out next. For some reason I thought it was a ye sheng purple so I've been avoiding buying a sample.

Finishing up a sample of If You’re Reading This It’s 2 Late from 2015. Raw.
I would say this is a really good quality raw.
Still very young. Lots of straw and grass notes with a lingering peachy sweetness. A bit drying in the mouth but very little astringency or bitterness.
My sample was a little broken up so I’d be curious to get a cake to try.

Working my way through this stack of Flap Jacks (Ripe)
I think are a great deal!
Wonder what a little rest would do?

This morning I drank the 2017 Hai Lang Hao ripe Lao Ban Zhang froom Yunnan Sourcing. This as a real deal LBZ ripe is incredibly rare and may be a one of a kind. This tea started out strong and bitter with a serious cha qi. The bitterness had the effect of making me not notice the fermentation flavor in the tea. The cha qi was really potent and lasted about 12 or 13 steeps. Overall I steeped this tea 23 times this morning and I could have gotten some more out of it with long steeps but 23 seemed good.

Have been sampling a number of Farmerleaf teas lately. Most of what I'd had so far was safe, clean plantation tea, but then I had the 2016 Wuliang Single Trees yesterday and today and really enjoyed it.

Lively, crisp tea, with nice sweetness and great minty cool finish. Decent staying power too.

Yesterday I had a wonderful session of thermos-brewed 2008 bamboo-aged YiWu sheng from Norbu. It's one of the few shengs that is really brilliant in this context. It was a hit with a group of occasional tea drinkers at work: a sheng to make friends and influence people. A little caramel sweet, a little earthy, a little herbaceous, with very little bitterness--just enough to keep it from utter blandness. I bought what seemed like a LOT of it at the time, and now wish I had a few kilos of it for the future.

teadontlie by White2tea.
I bought a sample of this in May 2017, i loved, it was so good young, sweet, vegetal, with a good astringency and some fruity notes.
So i decided to buy a cake, in 8months it changes a LOT, low astringency, a nice bitter, and vegetal woody notes, loving this, a very great tea, weel balance ,whit a calming qi.My favorite so far.

2003 Infected Tuo from Healthy Leaf.
I set myself up some time to do this one. I was given a 10 gram sample of this to try. I heated the water and preheated the gaiwan. I tossed the sample in there after draining the water out and tossed it around. The aroma was pretty light.

Going with the vendors recommendation with a good 20 second rinse since it is a tuo and compressed tight. I let it sit an hour and came back to it.
First brew was light in color and a small amount of aroma woodsy and earthy. The brew was a bit silky and almost creamy in mouthfeel. There is just a tiny whisper of smoke in there. The brew has the wood notes and sweetness to it. I can see the jam note reference.
Second brew brought out some more notes. I can faintly get the juniper the vendor described along with some mineral and sweetness. There is an aftertaste of mint if you let this sit across your palate and breathe in a bit.
Third brew the wet leaf has started getting the whiskey barrel note to it. The brew is darker and full with the smoke coming back in but the sweetness and berry comes at the end.
I expect this one to brew a while and I will add an addendum to this. It keeps getting stronger and may outlast me on the session for today. I have no doubt that this will brew well tomorrow as well.
The thing about this tea is the aging. Not so dry as to not mature and not so wet as to get the mustiness that often accompanies it. This is right and one of the best, so far, Dali Tuos that I have had. I think if nothing else of trying this if you don’t mind the smoke touches in there. A sample if as good as the one I got will give you a great session with this tea.

Flavors: Creamy, Earth, Jam, Smoke, Sweet, Whiskey

Seriously smooth and creamy with a sweetness I knew would be present before steeping as the aroma of the dry leaf was heavily sweet. Absolutely no bitterness and very crisp. For a sheng so youthful it has none of the weaknesses you usually find in something of this young age. Also as seen by the photos the leaf was huge and not just one or two but every leaf. Great calming feels after too. Very thankful to have been able to try this generous sample of 2017 Bokuryo Yi Wu High Mountain Arbor Tree Spring Mao Cha from King Tea Mall.
