I’m going to wait for that limited edition 20th anniversary Sae Midori to be available, before hitting buy button... the past limited editions he had were stellar, like Kyoto Sencha - Chadōraku.
It is available now Victoria!!!
Not anymore. He’s probably doing preorders first and tweaking the site with updates afterwards.

O-Cha:
Sae Midori enroute
Yutaka Midori enroute
20th Anniversary Sae Midori enroute
Aoi not harvested

Ippodo Shincha ... have to wait likely another month.

... what else to order?
I am sure I will add a few other Shincha from O-Cha.

Maiko Kinari ... on the fence

Den's ... perhaps

Kettl? Never ordered from them, but I somehow got on their email list years ago. Maybe their Yame.

Yunomi? Again never ordered from them. Again, been on their email list for years. They have an unusual approach of offering around 1000 Japanese teas. Whereas most vendors make selections of teas they will offer, Yunomi seems to offer anything they can get their hands on.

Thè du Japon? Always an adventure. Their preferred sencha style differs from mine in general making it a challenge to make selections ... further confused by their flowery descriptions.

Others???

I am sure he is not actually sold out since the "lot" was enough for 300 100 gram bags.

I fortunately escaped the wrath of Mrs. Chip by successfully ordering 3 bags which are now enroute.

I also ordered one, enroute as well. Very excited to try this.

I believe I am enjoying shincha as I write this. My most recent tea shipment from Obubu Tea Farm included a small pouch of 'Fresh Tea From Okinawa'. It is a quite pleasing sencha-style tea, with a bit of astringency and not as delicate as, say, their spring sun or Kabuse senchas that I was drinking most recently, but still nicely vegetal and not too sharp.

The one date on the package is 2020.3.20, so I'm guessing they have a cooperative agreement of some kind with an Okinawa tea farm.

Put in my order sans Satsuma 😢 — Sae Midori, Yutaka Midori, 2 Sae Midori 20th Anniversary Limited Ed, and Fujitsubo Uji Gyokuro.

I'll have to ask him about the Satsuma. I had asked him, but he was excited about the 20th Anniversary S.E. SM.

At that time, I also made a suggestion about offering a series of 20th Anniversary Special Editions. He thought it was an "interesting idea" ...

Do they typically market and sell selections labeled "shincha"?

I would be interested to know.

It seems most Japanese sencha have a 1 year shelf life, but 3/20/19 seems like a highly improbable harvest or packaging date for a 2019 shincha.

"USPS EN036710850JP, Processed Through Facility 04/28/2019 6:54pm ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) Reply STOP to cancel"

Shincha is in NY! This has made excellent progress. I had figured Tuesday at the earliest or Wednesday.

95% of the time, once it arrives in NY, it will be delivered the next business day ... tomorrow! 🤞🤞🤞

This should be both YM and standard SM from O-Cha.

Looking like Tuesday for the Special Edition. Just leaving Japan ...

Looks like shincha is back on the menu!

We've been burning out on matcha-iron teabags from O-Cha. I like their teabags for cold brewing on the go ... but desperate times call for desperate measures!

Been thinking about this. It is either shincha ... or I think since it was not promoted as shincha, it was aracha pulled out of cold storage, final processed, and packaged on 3/20/19. Thus the best by date of 3/20/20.

1st flush sencha is routinely pulled out of cold storage throughout the year as aracha, final processed, packaged. Very efficient and makes cash flow sense.

Arrrr ...well you can start with that one first then :) . I’m most excited to try his 20th anniversary Sae Midori, his description makes it sound like Satsuma’s creamy umami richness, ‘Lot's of umami, nice velvety mouth-feel’. Yummm.
