This rough boy is made by French ceramist Mr. Simon Manoha. He is harvesting local clay (sandstone) and the minerals. Chawan is completely hand made and wood fired.
This one is not so raw. I named it 'The smurf" because of that candy looking blue. Metallic stains are reflecting the light and changing its colour. That blue and metallic stains makes nice contrast with naked dark brown body of chawan.
This piece is from French SarahMaelleCeramique studio.

Hello.
I have to add my last chawan. This one is elegant and decent classical shape. But those colours are incredible !
Background is from red to burgundy to black. Surface is like white falls with sky blue shade.
Judge for yourself )
It is made by Ukrainian ceramist Mr. Yuriy Karpenko.

Hello again.
My new chawan "Lady in black".
External background is olive green and surface is black. Inside is mustard yellow with black running down like waterfall-interesting contrast I think.
Judge for yourself.

Looks gorgeous, but also highly impractical . I'm impressed by the froth you've whisked there!pepson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 11:42 amHello again.

Hello lizuki.
The same idea came in my head when I saw this chawan. I intended to use it for koicha. I was curious I can whisking a froth without making a mess and I was pleasantly surprised how it was easy.
I am newbie in matcha that is why I am looking for new skills and posiibilities.
And of course I did like that chawan so much I had to buy it

This one is from Etsy. I am not an expert I am not able to determine whether chawan is made by wellknown potter. I am sure this is well made piece and I am glad I can prepare matcha in it.
Maybe somebody can help with mark. But as I wrote before I do not care, chawan makes me happy
